Description
ICRW is an international organization that works alongside partners across the globe. Our work begins and ends in communities because we know that when given the opportunities, women and girls have the power to change their world. Through our two strategic hubs in Africa and Asia, our local staff are engaged in research, programs and policy advocacy at the regional level. ICRW has extensive experience with programs and policies that work with and for young people, including those that improve access to and quality of sexual and reproductive health services, prevent early and forced marriage, promote girls’ education, create opportunities to economically empower girls and young women and prevent violence. Across sectors and technical areas, the central element of ICRW’s institutional approach is to identify the unique needs of women and men, bring into sharper focus the issues and constraints they face, and design gender-responsive policies and programs. To accomplish this, ICRW works in partnership with bilateral and multilateral agencies; foundations and corporate donors; local, national and international nongovernmental and civil society organizations; academic institutions; governments; international financial institutions; and corporations. The ultimate goal of the work is to promote evidence-informed learning and action that transforms adolescent girls’ lives in low and middle-income countries (LMICs) and fragile states.
