EGG LEVERAGES GOVERNMENT AND COMMUNITY RESOURCES TO ENSURE THAT ALL GIRLS GO TO SCHOOL, GRADUATE, AND LEAD EGG began in 2001 convinced that people in poor, traditional communities can mobilize, build skills, and act to shape new futures for their girls. Many favor education but feel Government schools are weak, beyond their capacity to remedy. Yet for poorer girls Government schools are their main chance. EGG partners with Government, communities, schools, and girls themselves to transform these schools. Girls can learn. *Education increases girls’ income as adults. *It promotes smaller, healthier, and better-educated families. *It fosters stable societies and good governance. *It does this by giving girls more voice and choice.
