Key Information

Greenlight for girls is an international non-profit organization headquartered in both Brussels, Belgium (as an international organization registered asbl) and in the US (as a registered 501c3) dedicated to inspire girls (and boys) of all ages and backgrounds to pursue STEM subjects by introducing them to the world of Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics in fun and exciting hands-on learning.  Together with our long-standing Board members, global partnerships, inspirational leaders and a vast growing network of dedicated team members and volunteers, we are making a difference to inspire future scientists, engineers, inventors, innovators around the world.  Since our inception in 2010, we have now reached over 53,000 STEM adventurers of all ages & backgrounds with more than 410 engaging events on 6 continents, 34 countries, 101 cities with the help of a network of 12,000 role model and mentors.

One of our main projects is a g4g Global Fellowships Program in which we identify young women in various parts of the world who are planning to attend university or further their education, particularly focused on STEM subjects, and need support to do so.  The Fellowships Program is particularly designed to help young women who are from less economically advantaged environments and can benefit from global connections to give them the inspiration and the aid to help with their dreams to continue their education and enter the workforce.

Our goal is simple – ‘let’s see how we can make a difference to the life of one girl’ through giving access to education and inspiration.  We believe that by doing so, she will use her learning and voice to positively impact her own community.  And with our work to-date, this is exactly what we’ve seen.  Our scholarship recipients have had the chance to extend their education – and some have attended university to completion and some have gone on to attain their Master degree as well – and all have benefited from their educational support in their current work and life.  Some have led g4g workshops – and are also excellent mentors to the community around them.

Our g4g Global Fellowships provide young women, from 14 years of age to 24 years, with connections to local mentors and g4g events, with support to fund their education needs, with access to our global community and learning, and with networking potential to learn from and potential work in industries and companies around them.
