Key Information
The Support program for the continuity of learning in the face of the pandemic COVID-19 was a program with a first line of intervention focusing on the establishment of basic protocols for a safe, inclusive and protective school (safe control protocol). It aimed to strengthen the resilience of school stakeholders through awareness campaigns on COVID-19 and the prevention of stigmatization of infected people. Particular emphasis was placed on the prevention of violence, especially that based on gender, early pregnancies, etc. Potential victims also had access to active listening services and were referred if necessary to specialized psychological assistance or health services. The other part of this area of intervention focused on improving water, hygiene and sanitation infrastructure in schools with a view to promoting hygiene and respect for barrier measures to stem the spread of the virus. Another area of intervention dealt with the preparation for the resumption of classes supporting households by providing school supplies to children. The most vulnerable girls were equipped with dignity kits to allow them to follow their schooling in peace.
