Key Information

The Break Free Program aims at ensuring that adolescents are more informed about their SRHR and exercise their right to live free from Teenage Pregnancy (TP) and Child Marriage (CM), supported by civil society. To achieve this strategic objective, we have strengthened 148 CSOs, youth-led groups and networks to lobby and advocate for improved legislation and implementation to increase girls’ agency and to promote social norm change in favor of the prevention of CM, TP and FGM/C. We are seeking to reduce the prevalence of child marriages, teenage pregnancies and female genital mutilation/cut for girls in Kenya. We are ensuring that adolescent girls at risk of CM/TP access quality and safe education and influencing duty-bearers and decision-makers to develop and implement laws and policies that respond to adolescents’ needs. This way, adolescents access quality SRHR information, education and health services.
