Key Information
USAID initiated the TESTS Activity to support the Liberian Ministry of Education (MOE). TESTS is implemented by RTI and its partners and will run from September 24, 2021 to September 23, 2026 in USAID/Liberia’s six priority counties: Bong, Grand Bassa, Lofa, Margibi, Montserrado, and Nimba.
TESTS is working to achieve and sustain three overarching intermediate results (IRs): 1. IR1: Capacity of selected public, private, and faith-based institutions to train primary and early childhood education (ECE) teachers strengthened. 2. IR2: Critical skills built and applied for quality teaching. 3. IR3: Enabling environment for teaching practice improved.
TESTS will strengthen the capacity of targeted public, private, and faith-based teacher training institutions to train teachers who are able to deliver quality instruction; build critical skills for quality teaching; and improve the enabling environment for teaching practice. The activity will help address the gender imbalance in the teaching profession in Liberia by promoting female participation in the training program.
