Key Information
The overall objective of the Girls' Education and Women's Literacy Project (PEFAF) is topromote equality and equity in access and quality of education for girls and functional literacy for women in Chad. It will help to increase the enrolment of girls in middle and general secondary and vocational schools. This will require the rehabilitation/construction of two (2) schools (rehabilitation of the school complex in Amriguébéin N’Djamena and the construction of a new girls’ high school in Massakory (Hadjer Lamis). PEFAF aimst (i) provide the two (2) establishments with furniture, school supplies, pedagogical, scientific and digital equipment, drinking water, electricity through solar energy, a fully equipped and staffed school clinic, latrines, and computer and science laboratories; and (ii) improvethe quality of education and training for girls as well as adult women mainly through greater mainstreaming of gender issues in the education programmes offered, strengthening of science studies, diversification of vocational tradesto focus on job creation andsocioeconomic integration of literate women.
