Key Information
In collaboration with partners in Rwanda, Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania, AMPLIFY are conducting a 2 phase research study that seeks to: 1. Establish comprehensive empirical evidence directly from adolescent girls on the barriers to school return following prolonged school closures occasioned by the coronavirus pandemic; and 2. Identify promising best practices in locally driven remote learning and return to school strategies in East Africa.
AMPLIFY will employ qualitative methods such as focus group discussions and in-depth interviews with girls aged 13-19 years and living in the communities served by our local partners. Girls who have been unable to return to school in countries where they have resumed will be specifically targeted as key informants for interviews via the snowballing technique and interviews continued until saturation of barriers and themes arising is achieved.
