Advocacy Initiative for Youth Development
- I Implementer
Description
The Advocacy Initiative for Youth Development (AdIYD2) is a refugee-led organization based and operating in Kakuma refugee camp. Their mission of the organization is to break the cycle of poverty among refugees by increasing job placement opportunities and access to technology.
The organization is diligently working to ensure refugees have equal access to digital literacy and soft skills training. The trainings include: basic and advanced computer applications, freelancing and mobile applications, leadership, peace and conflict resolution, and street business management.
Initiated in 2019, the projects have benefited more than 2300 refugees so far in Kakuma refugee camp, which has led to job placement opportunities, conflict alleviation within the camp, and skill-sharing opportunities. This fosters the culture of learning and builds a supportive community centered around knowledge exchange and growth. AdIYD2 has made significant progress and their efforts have garnered positive feedback from the community.
