The Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER) is one of the world’s leading educational research centres. Through its international offices, ACER is well-positioned to collaborate with local governments and partners to undertake educational research, large-scale assessments, capacity building, and monitoring and evaluation programs for a range of clients with the ultimate goal of improving learning. Since its establishment in 1930, ACER has built a strong reputation as a provider of reliable support and expertise to education policymakers and professional practitioners. ACER collaborates on international development projects with organisations such as UNICEF, the World Bank, the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, and the United Kingdom Department for International Development, and has been admitted to an official partnership with UNESCO. As an independent non-government organisation, ACER generates its entire income through contracted research and development projects, and through developing and distributing products and services, with operating surplus directed back into research and development
