Key Information

In its effort to guarantee quality education and to empower youth and equip them with skills to succeed in the labor market, UNESCO Beirut, in partnership with Startline Foundation, developed a toolkit on ”Youth Advocacy and Campaigning for Reducing Youth Unemployment in Lebanon” and conducted trainings based on this toolkit. The Training of Trainers (ToT) workshops were organized (2018-2019) in order to build youth competences and to further disseminate this toolkit. The workshops, which fall within the framework of UNESCO’s Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) 2016-2021 Strategy, aimed at building the capacities of youth to engage in the labor market, through employment or entrepreneurship, and to empower their peers and reduce unemployment in Lebanon through advocacy and campaigning. The three workshops targeted around 80 youth (almost 70% women) to build their capacities for employment, entrepreneurship and advocacy for employment. One example of the successful indicator/success story from these workshops is a young female participant who developed her own small business following her participation in this training.
